A coworker has his birthday, so he brings a cake and puts it in the tearoom with a note: “Please help yourselves!” Whoever isn’t fast enough might be too late, as the cake is soon gone altogether. The doctors of three British hospitals conducted an experiment to find out empirically, how long would a box of chocolates survive in a ward of a hospital unit. They went full spy, placing two boxes of chocolates in the ward, then laying low to watch them be devoured by colleagues. Their conclusion: chocolate-content of a box recedes exponentially, with half of the chocolates gone after an average period of 99 minutes.
