For most of us, Christmas is a joyous time for love and family. Sadly, not all families can relax and enjoy this day, because more than 50,000 children and teenagers in Germany suffer from serious illnesses from which they will die prematurely. Together with their families, they face great challenges, as all their life changes abruptly and has to be rearranged. For more than 25 years, the children’s and youth hospice in the district of Recklinghausen has been accompanying and supporting terminally ill children and teenagers, as well as their parents and siblings, in dealing with the topics of illness, death and grief, and trying to make the situation as comfortable as possible for all those involved.
At Christmas, the Wallstein Group donated to the hospice to support its outstanding work.
