_New order at EVO

The flue gas cleaning at EVO Offenbach's WtE plant is being converted and optimised. Using the principle of dry scrubbing, the new flue gas cleaning makes it possible to install a heat recovery system downstream of the final purification step (SCR) and thus to include...

...the residual heat after DeNOx into the existing district heating network year round, thereby reducing the plant's own consumption. The heat is removed from the flue gases via flue gas coolers, transferred to the water cycle in a closed system and used to increase the district heating water temperature. The task of the heat recovery system is to cool the flue gases exiting at approximately 190°C to a level of about 148°C, while heating the primary water circuit of the heat exchanger system from 130°C to 170°C. The heated water flows to the district heating exchanger, where it releases its heat of up to 130°C and then back to the pumps for the next cycle. The high temperature level prevents the flue gas temperature from falling below the dew point of sulphuric acid and thus the associated corrosion. The Wallstein team is looking forward to working with EVO again.
