Heat utilization systems

Our heat utilization systems enable the recovery of unused heat from exhaust gas flows from industrial plants. This increases the energy efficiency of the plant, lowers fuel costs and reduces CO₂ emissions. With short payback periods of less than five years and a service life of over 15 years, our systems offer both economic and environmental benefits.

The heat utilization systems are used in various industrial plants:

  • Energy industry: Coal, oil, gas and biomass power plants for preheating feed water or combustion air and for fuel drying.
  • Waste disposal industry: Waste incineration, sewage sludge and substitute fuel plants for process or district heating generation.
  • Steel industry: Sintering plants for process or district heating generation.
  • Petrochemical industry: Refineries for heat recovery from process waste gases.
  • Building materials industry: Cement works and other industrial firing systems for the efficient use of waste gas heat.

We basically distinguish between two types of system:

  • Heat recovery systems (HRS) transfer heat from exhaust gas flows to other media flows (e.g. process water, district heating).
  • Heat displacement systems (HDS) displace heat within an exhaust raw gas flow, e.g. to heat clean gases.
