Usually, at the end of the summer we are already starting to organize our annual Christmas celebration. “Usually” because this year everything is different from normal. And since we don’t really know yet whether Corona will allow us to have a party together this year or not, we launched our first virtual/real Summer Party under the motto “WALLSTEIN WE GO OUT – and you’re coming with us” together with the marketing agency https://behrends-marketing.de/.
So on August 23 everything was ready for the action. Our people built small teams with their colleagues, friends or family members and traveled at least 5 km on foot, by bike or using some other means of transportation. The activity involved multiple tasks for team members. At the beginning, each team received a surprise bag with the contents selected specially for the tasks (such as components to build a raft, a frisbee for disc golf, chalk, and many other things). The teams communicated via a WhatsApp group where they shared quite a lot of great photos and even put together their own Wallstein Spotify playlist to make sure they had good music to go with the activities.
Our goal was simply to have fun and share a common experience in spite of having to keep the distance. We closed the night with a separate barbecue party for each team and awarded the participants with gift vouchers. You can see the photos of our happy winners above.
The activity gathered the total of 42 Wallstein employees with their family members and friends. The total distance traveled by all the participants (on foot, by bike, in canoe or while horseback riding) added up to 645.17 km.
It was a great event that we would love to do again when the COVID-19 pandemic
