The Munich public utility company Stadtwerke München operates 3 cogeneration plants in Munich. The Northern plant comprises three autonomous blocks, each operated in combined heat and power generation. Located in Unterföhring, the plant produces most energy through its Block 2, converting approximately 800,000 tons of coal into power and heat yearly. Blocks 1 and 3 are mostly used for residual waste incineration.
We are very glad to receive an order from Stadtwerke München to install 4 corrosion-resistant heat exchangers for the existing heat displacement system of Block 2. The heat displacement system uses raw gas heat for reheating the clean gas after flue gas desulfurization, thus improving the energy efficiency of the plant and contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
The delivery will take place in June 2020.
