We were happy to see that our first webinar dedicated to the topic “Heat recovery from flue gas in fluoropolymer heat exchangers: economically efficient solution for retrofit FGD plants and efficiency improvement at coal-fired power plants” attracted a lot of attention and gathered over 200 participants.

Thanks to these advantages and the relatively short depreciation time more than 150 reference plants with the capacity ranging from 100 to 1,000 MW have successfully implemented the technological solution involving heat recovery from flue gas using fluoropolymer heat exchangers.
The technology allowing heat recovery from flue gas was invented in Europe more than 30 years ago. It has proven its practical value and is now gaining traction in Asia, being implemented at new and existing facilities. For instance, China and South Korea are currently introducing major national programs to enodorse stricter air emossion standards. In the context of these programs, plants will use the heat from the cooled raw gas to heat up the clean gas. This technology with its advantages could also be applied to support the isntallation of flue gas desulphurization systems at thermal power plants in India so that they would be able to meet the new environmental standards.
