..This year, Mr. Frank Boos of WSG gave a speech on the topic, „Maintenance and inspections of switchboards using the example of waste incineration at the AEZ Asdonkshof: Is it necessary?” Conducting inspections and maintenance in accordance with various manufacturer specifications while taking into consideration the rules and regulations of the German Insurance Association (VDS) is a serious challenge in itself. However, in this case extremely fine planning and implementation were necessary, as some of the works performed required equipment shutdown. The conclusion: these extensive measures are not just insurance requirements, but also play an important role in ensuring work safety and protection. Furthermore, the inspection prescribed by law contributes significantly to plant safety, optimization of its availability, as well as cost reduction.
